Welcome to the Fertility Acupuncture Clinic Webpage.
I have over 13 years of experience and have treated hundreds of couples and singles for fertility. Whether it be unexplained fertility, a specific issue related to fertility or couples going through IVF treatment. My Facebook page will keep you up to date with all the latest news and research regarding fertility and acupuncture. I have studied all the research on acupuncture and fertility and use the evidence based results along with clinical experience and the patients individual needs.
Research is showing that Acupuncture improves IVF outcomes because it may help to regulate important hormones associated with success.
Acupuncture improves blood flow to the uterus and ovaries and supports the development of an adequate uterine lining.
Acupuncture on the day of embryo transfer (ET) can help reduce the stress and anxiety, but starting treatment prior to ET will likely have a greater effect on improving your outcome.
A cohort study in 2014 showed that acupuncture treatments leading up to IVF may benefit fresh cycles by 77%.
Hullender Rubin et al, 2014.
The well documented trial by Paulus et al, 2002 had a control group receiving no acupuncture and a group receiving acupuncture before and after embryo transfer. Success rates were 42.5% acupuncture group to 26.3% non acupuncture group. (p=0.03). The acupuncture was performed very soon before and after the transfer. A similar trial Craig et al,2006/2009 showed that acupuncture given later or the following day did not have the same positive outcome.
We are one of the few clinics that guarantee immediate Pre and Post treatments, regardless of the time and day. I guarantee that to all my patients. As research shows this is very important.
Recently The British Medical Journal published a meta analysis, which pools the results of all the trials to give an overall result. This analysis from Manheimer et al, 2013 concluded that acupuncture on or around Embryo Transfer may improve birth outcomes.

Couples can come together for a consultation where a diagnosis and a treatment plan will be made. We will diagnose by Chinese medicine techniques such as pulse and tongue, look at western medical investigations such as blood tests and scans and also monitor the Body Basal Temperature (BBT). At a consultation we can discuss treatment options and answer any questions. We can also advise you impartially on tests or procedures you may need to take to increase your chances.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used to help with specific gynaecological concerns such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease and difficult periods.
Stress and hormonal imbalances are thought to be a big factor in fertility issues, especially unexplained infertility. Acupuncture is routinely used to address this as research suggests that acupuncture may relieve stress and help the body to relax as well as balancing hormones.
